Half-Term Holiday Club

At the Holiday Club held for two days in the February half term, our premises were turned into a Seascape to reflect “Fishing and Pearl Stories” found in the Bible. There were songs, crafts, games and snacks which all added to the occasion with the children (and adults!) enjoying themselves as the photographs show. We are grateful to Helen Coppin for leading the event.

Journey to the Stable, 1st December 2018

At the beginning of Advent, we had a 'Journey to the Stable' in Church - a Reflective Advent Experience to lead us up to Christmas. It included seven stages on the journey starting with the Angel appearing to Joseph and finishing with the Jesus’s birth. It was was well attended and was supported with refreshments, a Christmas stall and children’s crafts. Here are some photographs - check our News Page for future events at Mile End Methodist Church.

Women's World Day of Prayer, 16th March 2018

This Day of Prayer takes place worldwide on the first Friday of March each year. However, our service had to be postponed because of heavy snow, and was held two weeks later.

This year’s service was prepared by the Christian women of Suriname, with the title “All God’s Creation is Very Good”. It was a lovely service and the two photographs show the display at the end of the service. Churches across Colchester were represented and the service was followed with refreshments with a Suriname theme.
